Intestinal parasites (intestinal parasitosis)
Darmparasitose is the infestation of the intestinal tract by parasites such as worms or protozoa (certain flagellates and amoebas).
The parasites usually reach the tract by smear infection or they are absorbed with drinking water, especially in warmer areas. In tract, these parasites can in some cases survive long and lead to severe diarrhoeal diseases (e.g. with parasitosis with due Entamoeba histolytica).
