Clostridia / Clostridium
Clostridia are rod-shaped, gram-positive bacteria from the family of Clostridiaceae.
These bacteria are very widespread. They occur in the digestive tract of humans and animals.
In the genus of the Clostridia are both pathogens (pathogenic germs), as well as Apathogene species, which are used in some cases in biotechnology.
The Clostridium perfringens forms pathogenic exotoxins. It excites the dreaded fire and can also be the trigger for Gasphlegmonen and time edema.
Further consequences of these pathogenic exotoxins can be nausea, diarrhea and vomiting.
The Clostridium Perfringes also produces the alpha toxin, which destroys cell membranes.
The Clostridium difficile produces toxins A and B which can also cause severe intestinal diseases.
